Biography
Local historian and author Kay Atwood, who has written extensively about the Southern Oregon region. Atwood’s books include Illahe: The Story of Settlement in the Rogue River Canyon, Mill Creek Journal: Ashland Oregon, 1850-1860, and Chaining Oregon: Surveying the Public Lands of the Pacific Northwest, 1851-1855. Her many other books and articles explore the settlement and development of communities in Southern Oregon, and include National Register nominations, cultural resource inventories, and environmental and organizational histories.

Callahan Ranger Station, Callahan Work Station, 12548 Highway 3, Callahan, California, 2003
The National Registry of Historic Places describes Callahan Ranger Station, located in Klamath National Forest. The documents describe the station's rich history and development between 1907 and 1942. Included, are detailed accounts and descriptions of each building, as well as images of the buildings. Additional materials include maps, a layout of the property, with photographs, handwritten notes, and a computer 3.5 floppy disk drive.
Callahan Work Center,12548 Highway 3, Callahan, California, 2002
The research concerns the Callahan Work Center and provides an analysis of the history of the buildings and surrounding area. Materials include a study titled "Callahan Station," compiled by Mary Ann Potter, and an interview between George Hendricks, Fire Control Officer, and Lee Morford, Retired Fire Control Staff Officer on September 30, 1977.

The National Register of Historic Places form describes the Campbell House in Ashland, (purchased by Richard Posey Campbell), built in 1888.

The Charles "Charlie" Givan folder provides research in photographs of the Ranch, farm equipment, structures, and family. A 1976 taped interview with Charlie, Ruth Kneas, and Kay Atwood describes the Old Givan Ranch and life back in the day. Also included are a list of people in the photos and handwritten notes.
