Biography
Local historian and author Kay Atwood, who has written extensively about the Southern Oregon region. Atwood’s books include Illahe: The Story of Settlement in the Rogue River Canyon, Mill Creek Journal: Ashland Oregon, 1850-1860, and Chaining Oregon: Surveying the Public Lands of the Pacific Northwest, 1851-1855. Her many other books and articles explore the settlement and development of communities in Southern Oregon, and include National Register nominations, cultural resource inventories, and environmental and organizational histories.

Sebastopol Town Site
These materials are all undated. There are four photocopies of a relatively primitive handdrawn map of an area known as "Sebastopol." Also included is a brief typewritten note about the history of the area.

These materials are related to the settlement known as "Silver City" and include an application for the National Register of Historic Places.

This folder includes two magazines filled with rich local history — the magazine "Southern Oregon Heritage," Fall and Winter issues 1995, volume 1, number 1 and 2. The issues contain stories about the Rogue Valley and the people who lived here.
