Biography
Local historian and author Kay Atwood, who has written extensively about the Southern Oregon region. Atwood’s books include Illahe: The Story of Settlement in the Rogue River Canyon, Mill Creek Journal: Ashland Oregon, 1850-1860, and Chaining Oregon: Surveying the Public Lands of the Pacific Northwest, 1851-1855. Her many other books and articles explore the settlement and development of communities in Southern Oregon, and include National Register nominations, cultural resource inventories, and environmental and organizational histories.

William McCredie house, 2606 Old Stage Road, Medford, Oregon, 1979
National Register of Historic Places nomination form describes the McCredie Historical house. The McCredie house located at 2606 Old Stage Rd., Medford, OR.
Originally located on the Thomas Ward Donation Land Claim, William and Missouri May McCredie purchased 50 acres in 1905 and constructed their home in 1908. William was an immigrant from Scotland who was a farmer-orchardist.
Willow Prairie Cabin, Butte Falls Ranger District, Rogue River National Forest, Jackson County, Oregon, 1994
The "Willow Prairie Cabin: Heritage Resource Evaluation" describes the Willow Prairie Cabin, built in 1924, for the Forest Service, was a candidate for the National Registry of Historic Places. Documents include a description of the structure and condition of the structure, historical background, and historical significance.

The materials consist of various documents related generally to the history of Wolf Creek. Much of this file is made up of Atwood's handwritten notes. Of note is a term paper on Wolf Creek written by a Patricia A. Converse in 1958.
Wolf Creek Tavern National Register Nomination, 1998
These materials are related to the nomination of the Wolf Creek Tavern for the National Register of Historic Places. Included is a letter of correspondence and a supporting document for the actual registration form, which is also included.
Woolen - Smith House, 131 North Main Street, Ashland, Oregon, 1976-1979
The National Register of Historic Places form describes the Smith House as a private residence constructed for Isaac Woolen in 1876. Mr. Woolen sold the home to Captain Thomas Smith in 1884. Isaac Woolen and Thomas Smith were prominent citizens and active in the community of Ashland. Brief histories are in the nomination forms.
Materials include plot plans for the property and the city, and correspondence concerning the nomination.
Yreka Sanborn Maps, 2004
The maps from the Sanborn-Perris Map Company outline the city of Yreka, California on a CD. The Sanborn Insurance maps are what they used for calculating insurance premiums for customers. Included on the CD are maps for 1885, 1888, 1890, 1897, 1901, 1908, and 1927. The maps provided information on the location, function, building materials, and dimensions of structures for each year listed.
