Scope and Contents

The National Register of Historic Places form describes Tulelake as constructed between 1935 and 1938 with twenty-three original buildings. After the Great Depression, President Roosevelt enacted the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Tulelake project gave young men jobs and skills that would help them recover from the Great Depression.

The nomination forms include a history of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Also in the documents are correspondence concerning the nomination, cartographic map, and layout plans for the camp.
