Throop Evaluation of Civilian Conservation Corps, 1983-1995
Scope and Contents
The National Register of Historic Places nomination form describes the Federal Program such as the Civilian Conservation Corps or the New Deal. President Roosevelt wanted to help the young people and as well as the nations natural resources, which were being exhausted.
Great Depression was a turning point in American history. The Depression had a profound impact on the nation and the people. The loss of employment displaced every citizen, and with no prospect of work, around two-million men and women became homeless with no hope for jobs or shelter, many of which were young unskilled and untrained. Many suffered widespread despair and hopelessness.
