These materials are related to Atwood's 1976 publication, Minorities of Early Jackson County: The Chinese, The Negroes, The Jews. Included are some drafts of the text for the book, but this file mostly contains photographs of the various subjects included in the book (Chinese, Jewish, and African Americans) from the nineteenth century.

These materials concern the history of individuals and families in the unincorporated community of Illahe, Oregon. These materials include individual's accounts of their family history, primary source documents, newspaper articles, etc.
