Biography
Local historian and author Kay Atwood, who has written extensively about the Southern Oregon region. Atwood’s books include Illahe: The Story of Settlement in the Rogue River Canyon, Mill Creek Journal: Ashland Oregon, 1850-1860, and Chaining Oregon: Surveying the Public Lands of the Pacific Northwest, 1851-1855. Her many other books and articles explore the settlement and development of communities in Southern Oregon, and include National Register nominations, cultural resource inventories, and environmental and organizational histories.

The National Register of Historic Places form describes the Klamath Falls Library. Constructed in 1926, a history of the City Library explains the beginning of the library and subsequent changes.
Materials include correspondence regarding the nomination, a newspaper article, four photographs, images of the library, and handwritten notes.

The National Register of Historic Places form describes the McLean House as a private residence constructed in 1890-1891. Robert McLean began his ministry in 1887 before the house was built and continued through the years.
The history for Mr. McLean is included in the nomination papers as well as research papers, 3X5 index cards, a pamphlet "Newman United Methodist Church," and six photograph images on slides of the home.

The National Register of Historic Places form describes the Michael Clemens House as private residence built in 1905, in Grants Pass. Michael Clemens married Ida Harkey in 1894.
The documents provide information on the Clemens family and their role in the history of Grants Pass. Also included is a photocopy of a newspaper article and correspondence relating to the nomination.
Mill Creek Journal Illustrations photographs, 1850-1890
The photographs and illustrations document the town of Ashland and its inhabitants from the second half of the nineteenth century. These images were used in Atwood's research for her book, Mill Creek Journal, which documents the history of Ashland, Oregon from 1850-1860. Many of these images appeared in the book.

The collection of photographs shows the city of Ashland through the lens of a local photographer, Terry Skibby. Skibby has spent years photographing and documenting the history of Ashland.
