Students who participated in an escapade, 1904
Scope and Contents
Beginning of school 1904: Just by chance a few decided to "go to town to celebrate" following the ingathering after school started. Starting from the Normal site, all walked to the "city" and on their return, about 12:15 p.m., the girls were locked out of their dormitory, as 9:00 p.m. was the dead line for being in their rooms. A hasty conference ensued, and awaking Ida Robinson who occupied a lower floor room, entrance was gained through her bedroom window, and a mirror was broken in the confusion. A faculty meeting followed and discipline was meted out for the infraction of rules. The escapade was so important to those participating that a picture was taken. Appearing left to right: 1st row: Clare Sherwood, Worth Harvey, Julia Olson, Almeda Cooper. 2nd row: Ida Belle Robinson looking thru broken mirror, Ernest Wright, Carl Murphy, Edna Louise Kingkade, Clarence Frederick Burke.
