Family letters, 1903
Scope and Contents
The 1903 collection consists of correspondence of Fred Mortimer Carter, husband of Vetabelle Elizabeth Carter (nee Phillips), of Wilmington, Massachusetts. The letters relate to Carter's effort to secure employment as a railroad engineer. The correspondence includes letters from various railroad companies, including the Pennsylvania, the Michigan Central, the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific, and the Northern Central. The collection includes a letter from S.E. Barney of the Sheffield Scientific School of Yale University and an invitation to the wedding of Myrtle Herbert and Ralph Billings of Corvallils, Oregon.
