Family letters, 1911
Scope and Contents
The 1911 collection consists of the personal letters of Fred Mortimer "Nick" Carter, Jr. of Ellensburg, Washington. The correspondence includes letters from attorney Chester W. Clark of Boston about money loaned to Carter. There are also letters from two of Carter's romantic interests, a Gertrude (no last name) of Walla Walla, Washington, and a "Midgy" of Haverhill, Massachusetts. While most of the letters are of a personal nature, one letter decribes Midgy's first experience seeing an "aeroplane."
