Family letters, 1915
Scope and Contents
The 1915 correspondence includes family newspaper letters, clippings, photographs, and a postcard. Fay Phillips and Walter Anderson Phillips wrote their mother, Lena Anderson Phillips of Ashland, Oregon, describing a trip to Niagara Falls and New York City with Professor Vining. The clippings, from the Ashland Tiding, announce Professor Vining's visit to Ashland with Fay Phillips. Two letters addressed to F.M. "Nick" Carter of Ellenburg, Washington, concern business matters. Two photographs, dated December 24, 1915, feature an automobile on a desert road near Tombstone, Arizona. The postcard presents Easter greetings from Fay Phillips to her grandmother Mrs. E.K.
