Family letters, 1921
Scope and Contents
The 1921 collection consists of personal correspondence and memorabilia. As with previous years, the primary recipient of letters was Mrs. Fred M. "Vetabelle" Carter (nee Phillips) of Madera and Redding, California. The most frequent author is "Mother" of Ashland, Oregon (Vetabelle's mother was Lena Anderson Phillips). Memorabilia includes a miniature account ledger and a Christmas card with private humor. The collection includes a photocopied clipping from the Madera, California, Tribune, June 6, 1921. The clipped article includes F.M. Carter among the project engineers for an irrigation canal diverted off the San Joaquin River to Madera.
