Notes on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, 1938
Scope and Contents
The documents include notes on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, including examinations of his characters and the relationships they have with other characters and their mood throughout the play. Also included is an analysis of Schlegel"s German translation of the play, including how Shakespeare seems to express himself better in German than his native English. It also looks for a possible relationship with between the comic underplot in Twelfth Night and the Jonsonian comic method, and many other ideas.
