Scope and Contents

The National Registry of Historic Places nomination form describes the Pelton House located in the Railroad District of Ashland. William J. Schmidt built the Late Victorian house in 1894. In 1991 the house was damaged by fire, and many of the residents of Ashland encouraged Pelton's to preserve the dwelling. The house is the sole example of its type and style in the Railroad District.

The file consists of images of a plot plan, house floor plans, correspondence concerning restoring home, newspaper articles, a petition to preserve the historic house, fire reports, handwritten notes, and pictures of the house.
