Scope and Contents
The National Register of Historic Places form describes the Tioga Hotel. Initially called the Marshfield Hotel. The hotel was built between 1925 and 1928, to be a first-class tourist hotel and community center. However, it would be abandoned and left uncompleted for twenty years.
Histories of the hotel and the builders are in the documents. Additional materials include many newspaper articles concerning the Marshfield Hotel, an announcement of the Tioga Hotel's placement on the National Historic Places Registry, correspondence regarding the research, and the nomination.
