The National Registry of Historic Places nomination form describes the Pelton House located in the Railroad District of Ashland. William J. Schmidt built the Late Victorian house in 1894. In 1991 the house was damaged by fire, and many of the residents of Ashland encouraged Pelton's to preserve the dwelling.
