Scope and Contents The National Register of Historic Places nomination form describes the Fernwood Pioneer Cemetery established in 1882 and located near Newburg, Oregon. Four prominent headstones mark the graves of the Brutscher and Everest families. Many of the first generation settlers were laid to rest here between 1882 and 1922. Scope and Contents The "The Givan Ranch" is an excellent example of 19th-century farming. Two personal narratives from Charles Givan, one of the sons of the original settlers are included. Jackson County purchased the ranch with all the tools and farming equipment in 1972.
