The Dennis M. Powers papers contain research materials including interviews and notes used in the authorship of several books

The series contains materials related to Dennis Powers' historical research and the writing of the books “Treasure Ship," and "Taking the Sea." The materials include papers concerning the publication and the promotion for the book. “Treasure Ship" was published in 2006. “Taking the Sea,” was published in 2009.

This folder contains various materials pertaining to the research and publication of a then-forthcoming book by Dennis Powers about the S.S. Brother Jonathon entitled "Treasure Ship." These include a bibliography from a previous book on the same subject, the articles of incorporation of Deep Sea Research, Inc., handwritten notes about people in the book, inserts to be added to the final manuscript, interview transcripts, and email correspondences.

This folder contains various manuscript inserts of the book by Dennis Powers about the S.S. Brother Jonathon entitled "Treasure Ship." Also included here are many correspondences between Mr. Powers and subjects from the book.

This folder contains many illustrations of the Brother Jonathan shipwreck. Also included here are items related to the treasure on board the Brother Jonathan. These items include a cover letter from Dep Sea Research, Inc., and a report by the Heritage Capital Corporation.
