Sand buggies, modified four-wheel drive wehicles, roll over the impressive sand dunes on the southwest Oregon coast near Florence. The dunes, part of which are in Honeyman State Park, cover a huge coastal area, and seeing them by "sand buggy" is the most entertaining way yet discovered. These are some of the residents of the only mainland sea lion rookery in the nation. They stay year-round at Sea Lion Caves, and can be seen basking on these rocks or inside their marine cavern, 12 miles north of Florence on U.S. Highway 101 in Oregon.
