Scope and Contents The National Register of Historic Places describes the Rand Ranger Station as being built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) between 1933 and 1937. The station is located in the Rogue River Canyon near Galice, in the Siskiyou National Forest a part of the United States Forest Service from 1916 to 1964. Correspondence concerns the eventual addition of McCallister and Dead Indian Soda Springs to the National Forest. The additions were desired from a recreation-enhancement viewpoint. The document describes the physical and economic characteristics of the Ashland Ranger District. Describes recreation development and provides recommendations. Scope and Contents

The file contains documents about the changes that occurred with the structure and "operating procedures" of the Rogue River National Forest. It includes "The Mission," "Opportunity Statements," "The Journey," "Strategic Planning," Forest "re-organization," and the eventual consolidation with the Siskiyou N.F. These various projects and tasks involved significant amounts of staff time and energy during the 1990s-early 2000s.
