The first volume in a series of three volumes of the journals of Captain "Dynamite" Johnny O'Brien. These are photocopies of the microfilm version of the journals housed in the University of Alaska archives at the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library in Fairbanks, Alaska. This volume covers the period roughly from 1851-1889. "The journals, handwritten in pencil, are a narrative of his life and were written between 1928 and 1930."
