An extensive report dealing with the improvement needs of then-existing lookouts, recommendations for additional lookouts, and describes present and projected guard patrols of various areas. Fire Management. The D files are a collection of documents specifically related to the problems and issues of forest fire management, including control plans, studies, suppression and prevention efforts, acres burned, fire causes, etcetera. The files also provide a fire history. Similar material that does not deal solely or mainly with fires can be found in the A and O files.

The letter contains comments on a Fire Management Report prepared for the Klamath and Crater National Forests, by Arthur Ringland; item D-9.
