I-3 Crater National Forest, "Correspondence - Ashland Creek Road proposal," Medford, Oregon (4p). Concerns a city-proposed "scenic road" up Ashland Canyon to Mount Ashland. The Forest Service was against the idea but did refer to a possible road from Siskiyou Highway to Mount Ashland. This road is the present route of the Mt. Ashland Access Road, built in the 1960s. [RR-SNF/SOU-HL]
