Biography
Local historian and author Kay Atwood, who has written extensively about the Southern Oregon region. Atwood’s books include Illahe: The Story of Settlement in the Rogue River Canyon, Mill Creek Journal: Ashland Oregon, 1850-1860, and Chaining Oregon: Surveying the Public Lands of the Pacific Northwest, 1851-1855. Her many other books and articles explore the settlement and development of communities in Southern Oregon, and include National Register nominations, cultural resource inventories, and environmental and organizational histories.

Christie - Eismann House, Hopyard House, 5971 Upper River Road, Grants Pass, Oregon, 1985
The National Register of Historic Places form describes the Christie-Eismann House, in Grants Pass, built in 1895 as a private residence. Purchased in 1916 by Chris Eismann the home remained in the Eismann family until 1957.
Included with the documents are letters concerning the nomination, notes, plot plan and an image of the home. Also included is a newspaper from Grants Pass Courier "Golden Anniversary Edition – Pioneer Stories Section" from April 3, 1935.
Chronology, 1935-1980
These materials constitute a collection of various forms of media compiled with the intent of creating a chronology of the history of Josephine County, Oregon. Some of the materials include earlier attempts at this chronology. Also included are maps, newspaper articles, and Atwood's notes and correspondence, among other items.

The documents include a list of City Parks, history of the Public Works system, and a report on the forms of City Government.
