Scope and Contents

Newspaper articles that describe the connection of tribal rights in reference to fisheries and other wildlife in the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Idaho, and Alaska. A few of the pieces address the Northern Spotted Owl.

Photocopied newspaper articles regarding fisheries in British Columbia.

Also found here are some handwritten notes regarding salmon fishing and a series of letters to or from Mr. Geo Chute about the halibut industry in the Pacific Northwest and some typed accounts by Native Americans regarding their lives as they pertain to traditional fishing methods.
