Scope and Contents
The National Register of Historic Places form describes Hillcrest Orchard with fifteen buildings constructed between 1900 and 1981. The Reginald and Maude Parsons House is the primary residence built from 1917-1926. Hillcrest Orchard initially developed by William Hubert Stewart, a member of the prominent Rogue Valley Stewart family. In 1908, Reginald Hascall Parsons with three other investors purchased the orchard. Parsons was involved with the community until his death in 1955 at which time his son George took over the management of the orchard.
The documents include correspondence regarding the nomination, a history of the orchard, images of maps and plot plans, a history of the Parson family, and research information.
