Lincolnshire broadside folios
Scope and Contents
Volume one contains extensive tax rolls and family names. Volume two provides examples of various advertisements, announcements, laws, ordinances, and reward posters. Volume three contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and sketches alphabetized by family names or location. Volume four is not indexed due to its poor condition. A prior partial index by Richard Moore, date unknown, of volumes 1 and 2 is also available.
A National Endowment for the Humanities funded preservation assessment describes these volumes as among the most significant and rarest in the Special Collections, describing the Lincolnshire folios as “unique, absolutely stellar examples of early nineteenth century English handbills and broadsides.”
