These files consist of reports and correspondence relative to Forest Service construction and maintenance projects for roads, trails, and administrative structures such as ranger stations. Administrative site plans include Star Ranger Station, Hutton G.S., Lodgepole G.S., Huckleberry G.S., Hamaker G.S., Camp #2 Fire School, and the Medford Warehouse complex. Specific building plans of this era remain in the files of the Forest civil engineer.

I-3 Crater National Forest, "Correspondence - Ashland Creek Road proposal," Medford, Oregon (4p). Concerns a city-proposed "scenic road" up Ashland Canyon to Mount Ashland. The Forest Service was against the idea but did refer to a possible road from Siskiyou Highway to Mount Ashland. This road is the present route of the Mt. Ashland Access Road, built in the 1960s.
