Sick Instructions, 1850s
The appendix entitled "Sick Instructions," discusses an allowance of sick full pay due to sick or inform depositors. The text provides instruction concerning how depositors can apply for sick pay. The document also explains how sickness will be verified.
Smallpox Vaccination, 1849
The notice requests that all parents have their children vaccinated against Cow Pox and Small Pox under the provisions of the Act of the 3rd and 4th years of the reign of Queen Victoria. The notice describes the danger of being unvaccinated. The text reminds readers that spreading Smallpox is an offense punishable by one month's imprisonment.
Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, 1849
The broadside includes the reprinting of a four-page document first published in 1704 titled "An Account of the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts." Much of the account focuses on North American and the Indian Nations. A fifth page outlines the origin and objects of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel since it was incorporated in 1701.
