The report documents the land use and geology of central Jackson County and includes geologic and geologic hazard maps of the Medford, Talent, Gold Hill, Ruch, and Ashland Quadrangles.

The file contains various items such as business cards, a poem, prescription forms, a book clipping, a notice to doctors, postcards, a membership card for the Southern Pacific Company, water reports, and a sketch of a map of Ashland. Items also include a photograph dated Aug. 20, 1924, and a letter to F. G. Swedenburg dated Jan. 1, 1930.

Francis Swedenburg was one of the many Swedish immigrants to settle in Oregon. He began his medical career in March 1907 at the Ashland Sanitarium, joining the founder of the sanitarium, Dr. Joseph Herndon. He became a prominent member of his field. The collection consists of 34 journals spanning 1890-1937, a doctor’s call book, a record book, and twelve family photographs, clippings, financial documents, and other miscellanea.

The collection holds 127 different maps from locations all over Oregon and California, with a focus on Josephine and Jackson counties of Southern Oregon.

The scrapbook primarily contains newspaper clippings and photographic material relating to the early 20th-century road construction project in Jackson County, Oregon.

The collection consists of historically informational materials received through various small donations.
