Scope and Contents
L-13 Reminiscences of Horace G. Whitney, Nov. 17, 1959, Cathedral City, California. Horace G. Whitney's reminiscences of early Applegate District Ranger. Whitney references the ..."one-room combined office and living quarters…at Star," where he and his new bride lived until larger living quarters were built in 1914. These larger living quarters were renovated and moved upriver in 1977 as a private residence. The one-room Ranger Station was long used as a storage shed at the Star Ranger Station complex. The file also includes a letter to Mr. Horace G. Whitney from C.E. Brown dated November 8, 1959. The letter requests historical information on Rogue River Crater National Forest. [RR-SNF/SOU-HL]
