Scope and Contents
The National Registry of Historic Places describes the Voorhies House as the residence of the Eden Valley Orchard which consists of six buildings, established between 1885 and 1898, and when Gordon Voorhies purchased the property in 1899, he expanded the production of the Orchard. The property remained in the family until 1986. There is a great deal of history about the family and the Orchard available in the nomination forms. Also included are maps, plot plans, a layout of the Orchard, and floor plans for the house, as well as correspondence concerning the nomination.
