Scope and Contents The National Registry of Historic Places form describes The Rand Ranger Station as a group of buildings built around 1934 to house the Rangers operating in the area. There is a notable amount of history beginning in the 1850s, when gold was discovered, through the mid-1970s. The station officially opened in 1916 and ultimately became the headquarters for the Galice Ranger District.
