The land was involved in a judgment against the south half of Donation Land Claim 40 due to a debt against businessmen Able D. Helman, Eli K. Anderson, and James F. Anderson under the business name Abel D. Helman. There were numerous owners from 1854 through 1944. Scope and Contents The real estate documents include Donation Land Claim from the United States to Robert B. Hargadine in 1865. Robert B. and Martha W. Hargadine sold the land to Lindsay Applegate in 1862. Lindsay Applegate sold the property to R. Koehler, Trustee, who, in 1884, transferred it to the Public for the Railroad Addition to the Town of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon for The Oregon and Transcontinental Company (a Corporation). One abstract list lots six (6), seven (7), and eight (8), in the "S" block with a variety of owners from 1909 through 1948. The real estate records show the transfer of ownership for the properties of these two abstracts between various owners through 1865 and 1921. The Articles of Incorporation for the Bank of Ashland in 1884, with William H. Atkinson, John Marshall McCall, and Henry Beach Carter, being the initial investors, is also included. In addition to maps of the properties in the abstracts.

In this folder are two original deeds. One is transferring property from George A and Celia A Andrews to H J and Frances Leveque in 1946, and from H J and Frances Leveque to C A and Rachel Irwin in 1949. Also included is a booklet about the Warner family written in 1941. There is also a single page from an abstract No. 7693, regarding Block "S" lots eighteen and nineteen of the Railroad Addition.

Scope and Contents The real estate documents begin with the Donation Land Claim from the United States to Benjamin F. Myer, who divided it into lots called them the Myer Tract in 1869. The first sale of lots was to Charles Benton Lindsay, who purchased lots, forty-two and forty-four in 1884. He also sold lots two and three to Henry B. Carter and Fordyce Roper in 1887.
