The collection consists primarily of theater playbills and programs from plays (including musical plays) for Southern California and New York City productions, with other U.S. and European productions also represented. Many of the programs were published through the journals Playbill and The Playgoer (Hollywood, Los Angeles, Calif.). The collection also includes single journal issues.

Materials in this collection relate to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival located in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Publications include newsletters, membership magazines, seasonal programs, schedules, visitor guides, and diverse membership and public relations materials.
