Local historian and author Kay Atwood has written extensively about the Southern Oregon region. Atwood's collection includes her publications, accompanied by her research notes, correspondence and photographs. Related publications, many written for cities and forest agencies, are also included.

National Register of Historic Places nomination form describes the McCredie Historical house. The McCredie house located at 2606 Old Stage Rd., Medford, OR.

Originally located on the Thomas Ward Donation Land Claim, William and Missouri May McCredie purchased 50 acres in 1905 and constructed their home in 1908. William was an immigrant from Scotland who was a farmer-orchardist.

Originally from Scotland, Alexander McMillian arrived in America as a child in 1850. After sixty years of the cold Montana winters, Alexander and Eva McMillian came to Ashland in 1909.

John Easterling was a businessman who purchased property and built many businesses in the Railroad District of Ashland. A unique feature of the John Easterling house is the porch obtained from Southern Oregon Normal School and incorporated into his new home.
