Grants Pass - Sanborn Maps, 1981
Scope and Contents
The folder contains maps from the Sanborn-Perris Map Company outlining the city of Grants Pass, Oregon. The pages can be placed together to get a better idea of the area of Grants Pass. Known as the Sanborn Insurance maps, they were used to calculate insurance premiums for customers. Included are maps from 1888, 1890, 1894, 1898, and 1907. These maps provide information about the location, function, building materials, and dimensions of structures for each year listed. Also included is correspondence regarding the maps, from Oregon State University, William Jasper Kerr Library.
