McKee Campground Shelter, McKee Bridge Forest Camp, McKee Bridge Picnic Area, Applegate Ranger District, Rogue River Nation Forest, Jackson County, Oregon, 1981
Scope and Contents
The "Cultural Resource Inventory and Evaluation Report on the McKee Campground Shelter" discusses the impact and options for continued use of the Historical site. A discussion of each alternative suggestion details how it would impact the area. The paper outlines the history of the bridge and picnic area between the 1850s and 1970s. One idea suggests having the area placed on the National Registry of Historic Places as it still retains the structures constructed during The New Deal program of the 1930s enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
